A Sector Security officer immobilizes Kalin, but he manages to jump onto his Duel Runner, causing a serious accident with a head injury. Trying to finish him off, Yusei stops him. Yusei tries to present himself as the leader of the Enforcers to protect Kalin, but the then-head of Sector Security has already realized that Kalin was the true leader of the enforcers, and Kalin becomes furious when he sees Yusei's hand on his shoulder, believing that Yusei has betrayed him. Kalin then receives harsh treatment in prison, loses his deck, and ultimately is convinced by Roman's voice to become a Dark Signer.
